The wonderful Josephine / Curry County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Illinois River will make you feel great. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you     want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Miami Bar to Oak Flat stretch is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Take a hike on the Bear Camp Trail. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Illinois River Trail, and Deadman Bar is beyond doubt a nice   spot to go to. For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Illinois River reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Illinois River plunge into the 30's. Illinois River gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
