  This stretch of Imnaha River is -blank- miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and
    if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as
elsewhere. The put-in location is a short drive from Lewiston, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is the only paddling stretch along Imnaha River.

Briefly about the general area:
Summertime highs at Imnaha River usually tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Imnaha River are in the 20's. Coming to this river is always a good idea.
Imnaha Rapids is a picturesque spot to stop by while you're
 
at Imnaha River; on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Cook Creek Trail. At Imnaha River you don’t see much rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout May while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Near Imnaha River you hit upon good sites like China Gulch, and Imnaha Rapids is always fun to check out.
