The scenic beauty of Douglas County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Cover Camp to FS 31 section of Jackson Creek is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. The Cover Camp to FS 31 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The wild scenery of the Southern Cascade Range is great. There's camping available near Jackson Creek. or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This
stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that.
