  This stretch of John Day River - North Fork in Oregon is 44 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a short drive from Pendleton-Hermiston, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby,
    you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The
beauty of the Blue Mountains is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Dale to Monument section is one of them. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There's camping available near John Day River  
- North Fork. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

The Section Line Trail offers hiking at its best. Around John Day River - North Fork you donít get a lot of rainfall.
