This stretch of John Day River - North Fork in Grant County is 44 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The river winds through the Blue Mountains and you get great scenery. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There
