There are two campgroungd on this section of the river. The power company camp ground is at the start at Keno Dam. At the end of this river section you will find a very nice camp ground operated by the BLM. ''Topsy''. This section of the river gets prety low in the late summer. Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The campgrounds here at Klamath River are pretty good. This section of Klamath River is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to
drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Keno Dam to JC Boyle Reservoir section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots.
Whitewater paddling here in the Southern Cascade Range is a great experience. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more.
Briefly about the general area: A tour to Klamath River wouldn't be complete without taking a look
at Paper Spring. For the period of the summer at Klamath River temperatures are usually in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Klamath River are in
the 10's. Klamath River gets a common amount of precipitation; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is typically the driest month.
