CLASS II-IV 5.5 miles
This is an excelent play runfrom 10.5 feet on up. Some real world class waves. Try to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Says Rob M
The Deadwood Creek to Siuslaw River stretch of Lake Creek in Lane County is 5.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Lane County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it
is a very popular destination. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is the only paddling section along Lake Creek. When you're paddling down
a Coast Ranges river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip.
