Says Rob M This section of Lake Creek in Lane County is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the cool fresh water have people     coming here. The Deadwood Creek to Siuslaw River section is the only paddling section along Lake Creek. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Lake Creek are pretty good. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at The Horn while you're here at Lake Creek. For the period of the warm months at Lake Creek highs are mostly in the 70's.   When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Lake Creek. Lake Creek usually gets much precipitation; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
