The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Eugene-Springfield, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This section of Layng Creek is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. There
are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There
are no other sections to paddle along Layng Creek than the Rujada Campground to Wildwood Falls section. The nature scenery of Oregon and the water flowing gracefully down Layng Creek will make you feel great. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Layng Creek during the days of summer are in the 70's, and the night is rather colder of course, typically in the 40's. For the duration of
the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Layng Creek. Layng Creek is a relatively wet place commonly with lots of precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is July. While you're here at Layng Creek you can take a hike along the Teeter Creek Loop.
