Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The campgrounds here at Layng Creek are pretty good. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The Rujada Campground to Wildwood     Falls section of Layng Creek is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. Layng Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Rujada Campground to Wildwood Falls stretch is the only one. The starting location is a short drive from Eugene-Springfield, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Teeter Creek Loop. Summer at Layng Creek comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down   to the 40's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Layng Creek. Layng Creek usually gets a good deal of precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July.
