Oregon whitewater - Little River, Central Cascade Range, Douglas County Douglas county, FS Road 165 to White Creek Campground section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.     The natural beauty of Douglas County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you're a camper you can camp at one     of the great campgrounds nearby. The FS Road 165 to White Creek Campground stretch is the only paddling stretch along Little River. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: At Little River during the warm months highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's with temperatures at Little River dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. On a pleasant day at Little River you can take a hike along the Red Butte Trail, and there is   a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Mott Trail. The high level of rain makes Little River a quite wet place; the month with most of the rain is November; July is the month with the least moisture. This location, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff.
