Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are a few other sections in this river system     that can be paddled as well. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of Clackamas County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Briefly about the general area: All through the summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Little Sandy River. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Little Sandy River tend to be in the 30's.
