Oregon whitewater - Marion Creek, Central Cascade Range, Linn County

Linn county, Gooch Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV(V)     7 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The nature scenery of Linn County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to
get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Marion Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Gooch Falls stretch is the only one. The Gooch Falls stretch of Marion Creek is 7 miles long and is a class IV(V) section of whitewater
according to American Whitewater. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus.
