The Wren to Philomath stretch of Marys River in Benton County is 10.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Oregon scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance     you're all set. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This is the only paddling section along Marys River. Whitewater paddling here in the Coast Ranges is a great experience. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that.
