The nature scenery of Lane County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Eugene-Springfield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and
you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch of McKenzie River in Oregon is 24 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section
of whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
