CLASS II-III 40.7 miles
This is an awesome and very beautiful stretch of river with hot springs, and roman gardens as some extras on the trip... Says Tobias
The wonderful Oregon scenery and the water flowing gracefully down McKenzie River make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of McKenzie River is 40.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,
but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so make sure you pack enough food along with your
camping gear. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
