The nature scenery of Lane County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations
you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near McKenzie River - South Fork. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Dutch Oven Camp to Cougar
Reservoir section is one of them. This stretch of McKenzie River - South Fork in Oregon is 6.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
