The nature scenery of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Buell County Park to Yamhill River section of Mill Creek is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater.
The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. The campgrounds here at Mill Creek are pretty good. If you're coming from Corvallis it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A good workout and a chance to
spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.
Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Mill Creek. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the
40's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Mill Creek tend to be in the 30's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mill Creek a wet spot; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July.
