The starting location is a short drive from Corvallis, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Polk County scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Upper Bridge to Mill Creek County Park section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature     will have you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Mill Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; all through the month of December you   get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Mill Creek mostly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are usually in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Mill Creek.
