The scenic beauty of Oregon and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Above Allegany section of Millicoma River - West Fork in Coos County is 6 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Coos Bay it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map
further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, suitable
for an afternoon trip. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This is the only paddling stretch along Millicoma River - West Fork. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here.
