Oregon whitewater - Mohawk River, Central Cascade Range, Lane County Lane county, Mohawk River Road to Hileman Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     5.8 miles   The Mohawk River Road to Hileman Road stretch of Mohawk River in Lane County is 5.8 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Lane County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around     here you'll find a large number of good spots. The starting point is not too far from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Mohawk River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Mohawk River Road to Hileman Road section is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Mohawk River through the months of summer are in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally   in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for Mohawk River. A great deal of precipitation falls at Mohawk River; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July.
