The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. This is the only paddling stretch along Mohawk River. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting     or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The natural beauty of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This section of Mohawk River is 5.8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Mohawk River frequently tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are ordinarily   in the 40's; nighttime lows at Mohawk River through the wintertime frequently sink into the 30's. A good deal of precipitation falls at Mohawk River; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
