The beautiful scenery of Clackamas County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The starting point is not too far from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience.
The Dead Horse Canyon Creek Bridge to Mollola River stretch of Mollala River - North Fork in Oregon is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places.
