  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch of Quartz Creek in Oregon is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Quartz Creek Road Mile 7.5 Bridge to Mile 2 Bridge stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either
    way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The wonderful Lane County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Cascade Range is a great experience.

Have a great hiking adventure along the Pernot Trail, and going for a hike along the Fall Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Summer at Quartz Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Quartz Creek dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights.
