  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Quartz Creek Road Mile 7.5 Bridge to Mile 2 Bridge section is one of them. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always
    get great scenery along the way too. The scenic beauty of Lane County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels are a bit
away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. This section of Quartz Creek is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Quartz Creek without first going for a hike along the Pernot Trail, and glorious hiking is available along the Fall Creek Trail. Through the summertime months highs here at Quartz Creek reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For
 
the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Quartz Creek.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Central Cascade Range. All the water falling down from the sky makes Quartz Creek a wet place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is July.
