This is the only paddling section along Rock Creek. The Above Rock Creek Fish Hatchery section of Rock Creek in Oregon is 5 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The scenic beauty of Douglas     County and the water flowing gracefully down Rock Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Chimney Rock is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Rock Creek. Summertime highs at Rock Creek mostly tend to be in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the   40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Rock Creek. Rock Creek is a wet location that gets lots of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly November, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest.
