The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Rock Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Above Rock Creek Fish Hatchery stretch is the only one. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and just hanging out with     mother nature will have you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Chimney Rock is an out of the ordinary place to go to while at Rock Creek. For the duration of the months of summer at Rock Creek temperatures are usually in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down   into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Rock Creek. The high level of precipitation makes Rock Creek a quite wet place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
