The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Keasey to mouth section of Rock Creek in Columbia County is 12.2 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the water flowing gracefully down Rock Creek have people coming here. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area
has a large number of paddling spots. There's camping available near Rock Creek. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night,
but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are no other stretches to paddle along Rock Creek than the Keasey to mouth stretch. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove.
Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Rock Creek a wet place; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Rock Creek ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Once
the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Rock Creek fall into the 30's.
