county,
Above Nugget Falls to Gold Hill Boat Ramp section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-IV 2 miles
This section of Rogue River in Oregon is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful Oregon scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can
camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Rogue River than the Above Nugget Falls to Gold Hill Boat Ramp section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're
all set. If you're coming from Medford it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. The river winds through the Siskiyou Mountains and you get great scenery.
