If you're coming from Medford it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Rogue River is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Jackson County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other spots.
The average Oregon whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Rogue River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Above Nugget Falls
to Gold Hill Boat Ramp stretch is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available near Rogue River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The Siskiyou Mountains scenery is wonderful.

area: Just can't get enough of the Siskiyou Mountains. The amount of rain that falls at Rogue River is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
A spree to Water Gulch is always fun, and a short tour to Dillon Falls is always worthwhile. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Rogue River while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Rogue River.
