This section of Rogue River in Josephine/Curry County is 34 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The put-in location is a short drive from Grants Pass, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. The Grave Creek to Foster Bar stretch
is the only paddling stretch along Rogue River. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If
you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Rogue River gets lots of water; throughout the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is
the driest month. So much cool stuff to do here in the Coast Ranges, too good to be true. A trip to Montana Spring will fill your soul with tremendous feelings, and nearby you discover the Bear Camp Trail which is a good hiking trail. At Rogue River during the warm months
highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows at Rogue River during the wintertime ordinarily sink into the 30's.
