Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of Salmon Creek is 12 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far
and near. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking
or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The beautiful scenery of Lane County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. Salmon Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Top of Upper Salmon Creek Gorge to Oakridge stretch is the only one.
Briefly about the general area: This river is a great place to visit. Salmon Falls is always fun to check out; Baby Rock is an exciting place to stop at while at Salmon Creek. Salmon Creek commonly gets a good deal of precipitation;

lows through the wintertime for Salmon Creek tend to be in the 30's. So much enjoyable stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just remarkable. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Salmon Creek; Shitepoke Trail is a good local trail; there's splendid hiking along the Bunchgrass Trail.
