The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Oregon are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. The McCredie Hot Springs to Rigdon Road Bridge section is the only paddling section along Salt Creek. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem
but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The McCredie Hot Springs to Rigdon Road Bridge stretch of Salt Creek in Lane County is 7.2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Salt Creek.
Briefly about the general area: Monteith Rock is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Salt Creek; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Bunchgrass Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Salt Creek, high temperatures regularly

Rock is an out of the ordinary thing to observe since you're here at Salt Creek, and nearby you find the Gobel Creek Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. This is a really good river. A great deal of rain falls at Salt Creek; November is the month that gets the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
