This stretch of Sandy River is 6.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Oregon you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. This stretch
has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Marmot Dam to Revenue Bridge section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The beautiful scenery of
Clackamas County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. the dark hours in the wintertime at Sandy River temperatures dip to the 30's. The high level of precipitation makes Sandy River a reasonably wet location; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month.
