CLASS II 13.5 miles
If you're coming from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of Sandy River in Clackamas / Multnomah County is 13.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that quite a few
of the sections here are not easy. The wild scenery of the Central Cascade Range is great. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too.
