The Salmon Falls to Elkhorn Park section of Santiam River - Little North in Marion County is 6.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Marion County and the water flowing gracefully down Santiam River - Little North are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is not the only paddling section     in this river system, there are others too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Central Cascade Range scenery is wonderful. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip.
