This stretch of Santiam River - Middle in Oregon is 2 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There     are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Green Peter Dam to Foster Reservoir section is just one of many. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The beautiful scenery of Linn County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. The campgrounds here at Santiam River - Middle are pretty good. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Santiam River - Middle. Once the sun is down it falls down   to the 50's.
