The beautiful scenery of Linn County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. This stretch of Santiam River - Middle in Oregon is 2 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting a good workout     and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The Green Peter Dam to Foster Reservoir stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
