Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Mountain House to Foster Reservoir section of Santiam River - South in Linn County is 16.5 miles long and has been rated     as a class III-V+ section by American Whitewater. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Mountain House to Foster Reservoir stretch is just one of many. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you're a camper you can camp at   one of the great campgrounds nearby.
