Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This section of Siletz River in Lincoln County is 10.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance     then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is the only paddling section along Siletz River. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The campgrounds here at Siletz River are pretty good. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summertime at Siletz River highs are frequently in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with temperatures at Siletz River dipping down into the 30's throughout winter   nights. Siletz River gets much water; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that rains the most; July on the other hand is the driest.
