This is the only paddling stretch along Siuslaw River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The campgrounds here at Siuslaw River are pretty good. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beauty of the Coast Ranges is a great plus     for this river. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Lane County scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Rock Canyon is a good spot to spend some time at. Siuslaw River typically gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Siuslaw River commonly tend to be in the 60's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's.
