The wonderful Oregon scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch of Squaw Creek in Oregon is 6.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV+ section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you
coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting location is a short drive from Bend, as you can see on the road map
further down. The FS 1514 Bridge to Gaging Station section is the only paddling section along Squaw Creek. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The river winds through the Central Cascade Range and you get great scenery.
Briefly about the general area: At Squaw Creek during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's, and the night is a tad colder of course, usually in the 40's. Throughout the
wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while Squaw Creek night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. So many fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range, not enough time. Black Pine Spring is an inspiring spot to have a look at while here. Don't leave
Squaw Creek without first paying a visit to Melvin Spring, and hiking along the Three Creek Lake Trail is perfect fun. Squaw Creek gets a lot of water; the month with most of the snow is December; the driest month is July.
