Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The campgrounds here at Steamboat Creek are pretty good. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the City Creek to Steamboat Falls section is one of them. Whitewater paddling here in     the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. The natural beauty of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime, highs mostly are in the 70's at Steamboat Creek, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Steamboat Creek. Steamboat Creek is   a rather wet place generally with a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. It's always brilliant to check out Steamboat Falls; going for a hike along the Deception Way will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range.
