This stretch of Steamboat Creek in Douglas County is 9.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II+(IV) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The campgrounds here at Steamboat Creek are pretty good. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the City Creek to Steamboat Falls section is one of them. Whitewater paddling here in
the Central Cascade Range is a great experience. The natural beauty of Oregon and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots.
You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here.

It's always brilliant to check out Steamboat Falls; going for a hike along the Deception Way will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range.
