If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Albany-Lebanon it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing     to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The Log Bridge to Hannah Bridge section of Thomas Creek is 9.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Thomas Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain,   and July is the month with the least moisture. Through the warm days of summer at Thomas Creek highs are regularly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Thomas Creek sink into the 30's.
