This stretch of Umpqua River - South is 12 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Oregon and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a
bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Campbell Falls to
Three C Rock section is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The wild scenery of the Southern Cascade Range is great. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove.
