The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you hurry you can run this section in a     day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. This section of Umpqua River - South in Oregon is 13.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. The beautiful Southern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.
