The starting point is not too far from Roseburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Oregon tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beauty of the Coast Ranges is a great plus
for this river. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Umpqua River - South in Douglas County is 5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds
nearby. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Canyonville Park to Lawson Bar stretch is just one of them.
