Oregon whitewater - Wiley Creek, Central Cascade Range, Linn County Linn county, Above Wiley Creek Gorge to Little Wiley Creek Confluence section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V     6 miles   This stretch of Wiley Creek is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Oregon and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along Wiley Creek. When you're paddling down a Central Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Some     people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Albany-Lebanon, as you can see on the road map further down. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Wiley Creek is a wet site that gets a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most, and July meanwhile is the driest   month. For the duration of the long summer days here at Wiley Creek, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Wiley Creek.
