  The Alton Baker Park to Peoria Boat Landing section of Willamette River in Oregon is 36 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Lane County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a
    while will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Eugene-Springfield it's
not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Alton Baker Park to Peoria Boat Landing section is one of them.

are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Willamette River dip into the 30's.
A cool spot to take a look at right next door to Willamette River is Harrisburg Bend, and Horseshoe Bar is a perfect site to spend some time. Willamette River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; during December this area sees the most rain, and July is when it's the driest.
