The put-in location is a short drive from Eugene-Springfield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of Lane County and the water flowing gracefully down Willamette River - Middle Fork beats anything. This section of Willamette River - Middle Fork in Oregon is 10.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Dexter Dam to confluence with Coast Fork Willamette section is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Central Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. If you've been
whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people.
