Oregon whitewater - Wilson River, Coast Ranges, Tillamook County
Tillamook
county,
Jones Creek Forest Camp to Boatramp section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-IV 16.6 miles
The wonderful Oregon scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section of Wilson River is 16.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can
be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away
from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here.
