This stretch of Winberry Creek is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+(V) section. The put-in is not too far from Eugene-Springfield, as you can see on the road map further down. The campgrounds here at Winberry Creek are pretty good. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The beautiful scenery of Lane County and the playfulness
of the water will make you feel great. There are no other stretches to paddle along Winberry Creek than the South / North Fork Confluence to Forest Service bridge stretch. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Oregon is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many
of the sections here are not safe for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The beauty of the Central Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.
Briefly about the general area: Winberry Creek gets a good deal of water; most of the rain falls throughout November, and July is the month with the least moisture. Hiking along the Hardesty Trail is good fun, and going for a hike along the Eagles
Rest Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Summertime at Winberry Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures
sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Winberry Creek temperatures fall to the 30's.
