Susquehanna section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     12.2 miles   This section of Anderson Creek in Pennsylvania is 12.2 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from DuBois, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Pennsylvania is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to     stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Anderson Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the US Route 322 to West Br. Susquehanna section is the only one. The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. Briefly about the general area: Bilger Rocks is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Anderson Creek. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Anderson   Creek while overnight lows are generally in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Anderson Creek. The amount of rain that falls at Anderson Creek is close to the national average; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest.
