The natural beauty of Pennsylvania and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Chambersburg it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. If you'll be staying in
a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. On
this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. This section of Antietam Creek - East Branch is 9 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater.
