The put-in is not too far from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Bear Creek are pretty good. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Pennsylvania is often easier     than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. This is the only paddling section along Bear Creek. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
