Pennsylvania whitewater - Beaver Creek, York County York county, Alpine Road to Bull Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III-IV     1.5 miles   The Alpine Road to Bull Road stretch of Beaver Creek in Pennsylvania is 1.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Pennsylvania and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This is the only paddling section along Beaver Creek. If you're coming from York-Hanover it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other     states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Beaver Creek during the long summer days are in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Beaver Creek. A day on the slopes   of Ski Roundtop is just what you need. Beaver Creek is a good place of normal rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most while January is mostly the driest month.
