Says Patrick The beautiful scenery of York County and the water flowing gracefully down Beaver Creek beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from York-Hanover, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is a pretty short     section so better bring some good walking shoes. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This stretch of Beaver Creek in York County is 1.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are no other sections to paddle along Beaver Creek than the Alpine Road to Bull Road section. Briefly about the general area: Really perfect skiing awaits you at Ski Roundtop. All through the warm days of summer highs here at Beaver Creek reach the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Daytime   highs through the winter are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Beaver Creek. Beaver Creek gets a normal amount of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is ordinarily the driest month.
