The nature scenery of York County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This section of Beaver Creek is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that many runs in this state
    are very easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from York-Hanover, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. There
are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Alpine Road to Bull Road stretch is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because  
these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

Briefly about the general area:
Gifford Pinchot State Park is a perfect spot to stop by on a pretty day, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Lewisberry here. Everybody close by loves skiing at Ski Roundtop, and going for a hike on the Darlington Trail is always a great adventure. Coming to this river is always a good idea. From a precipitation point of view Beaver Creek is a quite common location. Most of the rain falls throughout May; January on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the summer here at Beaver Creek, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's.
