This stretch of Beaver Creek in Fayette County is 4 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Morgantown, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The average Pennsylvania whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The natural beauty of Fayette County and the playfulness
of the water have people coming here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
This river system has a few good paddling sections and the LR 26023 to confluence with Meadow Run section is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: All through the warmest time of the year here at Beaver Creek, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. During the winter highs are in
the 30's, and night lows during the winter for Beaver Creek tend to be in the 10's. Good hiking is available along the Great Gorge Trail. Beaver Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls all through July; the driest month of the year is February.
