The wonderful Pennsylvania scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Pennsylvania are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. There are no other stretches to paddle along Big Run than the Savannah Road to Shenango River stretch. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because
it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The campgrounds here at Big Run are pretty good. The Savannah Road to Shenango River section of Big Run in Lawrence County is 1.5 miles long and
has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks.
